Papatoetoe South School, Auckland Learning Support Coordinator at Papatoetoe South and Papatoetoe West Schools Physical address: Milan Road, Papatoetoe, Auckland Postal Address: 58C Milan Road, Papatoetoe, Auckland, 2025 Full time, Permanent Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher This position is a permanent full-time teaching equivalent (FTTE) using the Primary Teachers Collective contract, based 50/50 between Papatoetoe South School and Papatoetoe West School. As learning support coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in championing inclusion and uplifting learning support across our schools through: Planning support to meet student needs alongside the Senior Leadership Teams, SENCo, Therapists, LSCs, Team Leaders, and SWiS. Collaborating with nga kaiako, whanau, and external specialists to deliver Individualised Education Plans (IEPs). Planning and delivering effective programmes for English Language Learners. Monitoring student progress and adjusting support strategies as needed to ensure academic and social success. Planning for the needs of students with special educational needs. Necessary for success: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team. Effective and experienced classroom practitioner who is able to support others. Knowledge and experience of navigating the New Zealand system. A belief in the potential of all children. Commitment to your role as tangata Tiriti and demonstrating strong cultural capability. Fully registered with up-to-date New Zealand teaching experience. Desirable: Strong knowledge of different learning styles, disabilities, and research-based intervention strategies. A foundation in culturally responsive practice and pedagogy and dual language pedagogy. The ability to speak the languages of our community. You'll be part of two supportive and collaborative teams who work closely together and are dedicated to fostering inclusive, mana-enhancing learning environments.
