Learning Facilitator - Primary IndustriesWe are seeking a part-time Learning Facilitator to support Primary Industries.
The Learning Facilitator is based at our EIT | Te Pukenga Hawkes Bay campus reporting to the Assistant Head of School Primary Industries and will be responsible for:
Work alongside students and encourage them with their learning.Respond to questions from students about their learning projects, tasks, and the like.Assist students in practicing and mastering technical skills.Teaching Facility and Resources Assist with the running of the EIT small farm at Taradale, including stock work and general maintenance.Student Support Identify students with learning issues and refer to tutor or specialist as appropriate.Work with teaching staff to provide additional practical support to students with learning issues.Follow up with students who haven't been attending classes and refer to the tutor or specialist as appropriate.Work with teaching staff to integrate theory and practical teaching methodologies.Contribute to new ideas and develop new learning resources.Provide feedback to the Tutor/Lecturer on the effectiveness of teaching and learning practice.To be successful in this role you will have: Extensive range of general agriculture and farm machinery experience combined with proven technical and applied expertise in the primary industry is essential. Knowledge of stock handling.Empathy for students.Competence in the use of Microsoft Office.Skills: Extensive knowledge and practical skills in agriculture/horticulture essential.Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal skills essential.Administration and organisational skills required.As an inclusive and supportive employer, we value diversity and want to encourage anyone interested to apply, regardless of whether you tick all the boxes or not.
