Skip to content Bring your range of experience developing adult education to this exciting opportunity developing education for our personnel across New Zealand.Mo tenei turanga - About the role:As the Learning Development Lead you will support a significant change programme focused on ensuring that Fire and Emergency's training systems, practices and governance are effective and fit for purpose. You will lead the work associated with reviewing and redevelopment of core learning programmes to ensure alignment with, and reinforcement of our service delivery operating model.This is a fixed term position until 30 October 2025.Wellington is our preferred location, however we will consider Rotorua for the preferred candidate.Ko tau na i tenei turanga - What you'll bring to the role:Hit the ground running in this project-based position using your significant background in Adult Education and relationship building skills to partner with the core Learning and Development directorate to ensure effective assessment, moderation and ongoing review systems and practices are embedded across all our core learning programmes. A strong influencing ability in people engagement to help navigate differing viewpoints to find a common ground resulting in a positive shared outcome. You will be comfortable working to tight deadlines while ensuring all work streams, programmes and other initiatives are delivered with high quality outcomes.To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will have:Proven senior-level experience in Adult EducationIn depth understanding of modern training methods, including online learningDemonstrated ability to influence transformational changePositive relationship building and communication skillsAn understanding of the machinery of government is an advantageThe salary range for this role is $134,190 - $149,100 (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.Ko wai matou - Who are we?Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity responsible for reducing unwanted fires, responding to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters, and supporting increased community resilience.Our vision is to build stronger communities and protect what matters most to the people within them.
