About the Role
This is an exciting and diverse role where no two days are the same. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the role involves working in a small crew on jobs throughout the Far North but based out of Kaikohe Depot. Hours of work will typically be Monday to Friday with a guaranteed 40 hours per week.
The Leading Hand directs and controls the activities and operations of a crew on a day-to-day basis, optimising the use of company resources and contributing to the successful completion of contracts, ensuring customer satisfaction and achievement of all targets.
About you
• Class 2 Driver's License
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role is required, preferably with an infrastructure background.
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong customer and commercial awareness on site
• Team leadership and motivation skills to lead smaller teams
• On-site team supervision
The role of the Leading Hand is expected to act as the technical first line support for day-to-day issues that arise in the field. The Leading Hand is expected to undertake this as well as perform the normal role as a crew member within their area of expertise.
