The Regulatory Services Group leads and influences two key regulatory systems for Aotearoa. In the gambling system, we deliver community wellbeing through reducing gambling-related harms; and in the anti-money laundering (AML) system, we protect the trust in the financial systems of Aotearoa. We are a responsive risk-based regulator focused on reducing harm and ensuring that iwi, hapu, and communities across Aotearoa are safe, resilient, and thriving.
The opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Lead Intelligence Analyst to join our team at an exciting time while we expand our intelligence approach for our Regulatory Services Group. This is a particularly interesting role, where you will be responsible for leveraging your advanced analytical abilities to lead the development of tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence products, particularly those products complex in nature.
You will provide analytical expertise to the intelligence function, take a leading role developing intelligence processes and practice notes, and set the bar for the analytical standards of the intelligence function. Your stakeholder engagement and influencing skills will be advanced, and you will be a recognised, credible member of the broader, across-government intelligence community.
This position will give you the opportunity to develop or enhance your people leadership skills through mentoring intelligence professionals in the team, leading the development of intelligence processes, and helping support the intelligence leadership. About you: The experience, knowledge, and skills you will bring to this position will be:
5+ years post qualification intelligence experience, ideally in a regulatory or related environment.Proven mentoring and coaching skills.Excellent analytical skills, providing insightful intelligence, and a problem-solving approach and robust judgement.Broad experience leading/contributing to the development of analytical tradecraft, systems, or processes.Proven strengths leading the development of complex, strategic, and multi-agency intelligence products.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain productive relationships across a diverse stakeholder base.If you're looking for a new challenge that encourages you to think innovatively to help make a difference to Aotearoa and its people, then Internal Affairs could be the place for you.
