Lawyers, Policy and Legislation Team, MSD Legal - Permanent 3 x Full time, Permanent positions Location: National Office, Wellington Put your legal skills and experience to work, helping New Zealanders to be safe, strong, and independent.
We are seeking three enthusiastic lawyers with high levels of integrity and professionalism to join our supportive and collegial Policy and Legislation team, in providing quality legal services for the Ministry of Social Development.
What you'll be doing He aha tau e mahi ana As a Lawyer in the Policy and Legislation Team, you will focus on providing public law advice and supporting operational and policy change.
This includes policy development, regulatory and legislative reform, drafting of secondary legislation and contributing to the drafting of primary legislation.
You may also contribute to work done in other parts of the MSD Legal team.
Experience in the Government Legal Network, or a familiarity with social security law is preferred.
However, strong applicants without the relevant experience will be considered.
The permanent lawyer role involves working collaboratively with other Lawyers, Senior Lawyers and the Ministry's Principal Legislative Counsel.
