About the role We're looking for an experienced driver to work as a laundry van driver working from our laundry business based in Ellerslie. This is a permanent, part time role supporting our commercial laundry business dispatching laundry to multiple Care Homes within Retirement villages around Auckland. This role is working 24 hours per week from Sunday to Tuesday (3 days per week) so your ability to work on the weekend is essential. There may also be opportunity for you to pick up additional shifts throughout the week if desired, so flexibility would be an advantage. No heavy vehicle license required, just the standard Class 1 license and a clean driving record is essential. Join our wonderful laundry family, and work in this very important role with Metlifecare! Some of the great things you will be doing: Efficiently and safely drive the laundry truck and collect dirty laundry and deliver clean laundry as scheduled. Deliver personal laundry packages to designated area requested by Village Managers. Help in the laundry with basic duties as required, e.g., folding, placement of linen. Performs vehicle maintenance as appropriate e.g., refuel, check tyre pressure, oil, and water routinely Notify any vehicle defects and report damage to your manager. Document and report incidents/accidents/damage appropriately in line with standard operating procedures. Complete vehicle audit(s) checklist as scheduled and needed About you As mentioned, you do not need a heavy vehicle driver's license, just confidence in driving, and a current/clean driver's license. You must be physically fit as heavy lift is required and enjoy interacting with a variety of different people.
