Laboratory Technician | Tribology Lab based in Wellington - APPLY today!09th October, 2024Imagine your future with usAt ALS, we encourage you to dream big.When you join ALS, you join a purpose and values-driven team that empowers you to innovate, create, and thrive.Our global team turns up each day with passion and commitment to do amazing things, always challenging our thinking to find ways to solve some of the world's most complex problems for a safer, healthier world.About the PositionThe Tribology business stream in Lower Hutt is seeking a Laboratory Technician to become a part of a team that strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time.Working in the Tribology laboratory and reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for the analytical testing of oil, fuel and coolant samples, ensuring timely and quality results are produced for the analysis of heavy mining equipment and machinery oils.Extensive training in the relevant instrumentation and procedures will be provided to the successful applicant.The salary on offer is $54,440 - $63,748 for a permanent position.The day to dayChemical and physical testing of oil, fuel and coolant samplesEntering and releasing sample and test data into LIMSAssisting lab manager in monitoring and directing sample flows throughout labPerforming equipment maintenance troubleshootingAwareness of laboratory safety policy and implementationEnsuring that analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with the ALS Quality Work Instructions including QA/QCThe EssentialsTo be successful in this role you will have:2-5 years oil laboratory experience or in a production based industry is desirable.Tertiary qualifications/Accredited Training in Lab techniques (currently studying towards or completed) is desirable but required.A great work ethic and ability to work in a team for a common goalExcellent communication, organisational and time management skillsAbility to multi-task and absorb multiple skills required for the positionSound Computer literacy skills - (training provided for internal recording systems)Quality focus with attention to detailAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentWorking at ALSOur people drive our success at ALS.We are a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
