Laboratory Technician - Chemistry

We have a permanent full-time position available for a Laboratory Technician to work from Tuesday to Saturday within the General Chemistry section of our Chemistry team at Eurofins ELS in Wellington.
We are seeking candidates for this exciting opportunity.The purpose of the role is to carry out accurate analysis of soil, water, and wastewater samples as required by the customer.
A commercial laboratory testing background is preferred.Key Position Objectives:Reporting to the Chemistry Laboratory Manager, the role will focus on but is not limited to:Prepare samples for analysis by mixing, filtering, blending, and weighing, in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods.Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment/instruments as required.Complete all quality control records in accordance with quality requirements and work instructions.Good knowledge of chemistry tests, including Nitrate/Nitrite, Ammonia, and Chloride is preferred.Minimum Requirements:Certificate/Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.Experience in a commercial laboratory handling FIA, IC, and other instruments will be an advantage.Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically, and directly.Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.Strong attention to detail.Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.Must have a valid NZ work visa or be a NZ resident.
