Eurofins offers a portfolio of over 200,000 analytical methods to evaluate the safety, identity, composition, authenticity, origin, traceability and purity of biological substances and products, as well as providing innovative clinical diagnostic testing services.Job DescriptionWe have a permanent full-time position available for a Laboratory Technician to work from Tuesday to Saturday within the General Chemistry section of our Chemistry team at Eurofins ELS in Wellington, and we are seeking candidates for this exciting opportunity.The purpose of the role is to carry out accurate analysis of soil, water and waste water samples as required by the customer.
Commercial laboratory testing background is preferred.Key Position Objectives:Prepare samples for analysis by mixing, filtering, blending and weighing, in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods.Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment/instruments as required.Complete all quality control records in accordance with quality requirements and work instructions.Good knowledge of chemistry tests, including Nitrate/Nitrite, Ammonia, Chloride is preferred.QualificationsCertificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.Experience in a commercial laboratory handling FIA, IC and other instruments will be an advantage.Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically and directly.Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.Strong attention to detail.Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.Must have a valid NZ work visa or be a NZ resident.Additional InformationAll candidate CVs and cover letters will be reviewed, however please note that we are not always able to respond to every expression of interest submitted.This opportunity is only open to candidates who are eligible to work in Australia/New Zealand, and already have work rights or an appropriate working visa.
