About the Role Health New Zealand is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the Christchurch Hospital WellFood Department. Join our dedicated and hard-working WellFood Department and help feed our turoro (patients) and whanau (families).
About the Team/Service/Location Our kitchen kapa (team) are responsible for ensuring that the needs of each turoro (patient) are met to the highest standard. Following standardised recipes and using creative flair to present food that we can be proud of while maintaining clean and tidy working areas. You will be required to follow food handling, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
The kitchen operates 6am to 8pm Monday to Sunday. Starting rate $23.75 per hour, based on the E tu Service and Food Workers collective agreement.
About You We are looking for a motivated, reliable, hardworking, and flexible candidate who is able to bring their passion for hospitality services to our facilities.
This role would suit someone who is looking for flexible working hours, is able to work on their feet, and can focus in busy, loud environments. Experience working in large scale kitchen environments would be advantageous.
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
