We work with a culturally diverse population and are committed to supporting clients in a culturally responsive manner.The Behaviour Support Specialist role delivers quality services based on a positive behaviour support framework. You can be based in Christchurch, Timaru or Oamaru.This role is open to:People with a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or at least 3 years relevant experience in the disability fieldOccupational TherapistsSpeech and Language TherapistsSocial WorkersBehaviour Therapists/Specialists (BCBA's)TeachersExperience in the field of disability and/or behaviour supportA current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) where this is requiredKnowledge of the Code of Health and Disabilities Services Consumer Rights, The Treaty of Waitangi and bi-cultural practiceGood interpersonal skills and ability to build rapportExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA current full New Zealand driver's licenceProven ability to work in teams and in a 'transdisciplinary' mannerKnowledge and understanding of evidence-based behavioural approachesExperience of functional assessment and implementation of a behaviour planExperience with Microsoft Office Suite and client management systemsWe will support you to learn the role.
