Kaitohutohu AdvisorTe Puni Rohe RegionsTe Puni Kokiri The Ministry of Maori DevelopmentWe have an exciting opportunity for a Kaitohutohu - Advisor to come to Te Puni Kokiri. Working out of the Whangarei office, our kaimahi are agile and supportive, taking their mahi across the wider region when required. This well-established proactive team shares ideas, uplifts and upskills each other.Reporting to the Manukura - Team Leader, the Advisor is responsible for assisting Maori communities to develop and implement initiatives that improve long-term social and economic outcomes for Maori. They work with agencies, organisations and providers to support the Manukura in building strong relationships across the rohe.Facilitating regional partnerships and working with stakeholders across the iwi, public and private sectors.Contributing to regional work programmes including leading and providing policy advice across a range of project-related issues significant to Maori and Government.Leading work with agencies, organisations and providers to assist them in improving their outcomes for Maori.Acting as an effective conduit for information both into and out of Maori communities to support Maori initiatives.The appointment range for this role is between $76,022 and $84,468 per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.Ko wai koe About youWe are looking for an Advisor who can contribute to the work of the team in developing government operational policy and investment design in a whanau-centred way.Reporting to the team leader, you will:Be a conduit between communities and government agencies to help provide better outcomes for Maori.Take an engagement and relational approach to your mahi over a purely transactional one. Can identify, build and actively manage relationships.Experience working with the community, preferably with Maori and working collaboratively with others to get work done.Experience in facilitating the establishment and consideration of investment (business or otherwise).Experience in central government processes to support advice to local agencies, organisations and Maori.Experience in facilitating hui, wananga and other influencing conversations.Comfortable working in a te ao Maori environment.
