Kaitohu Matua Senior HR Advisor Nga Tangata, te Raukaha me te Ahurea People, Capability & Culture Te Puni Kokiri The Ministry of Maori Development We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced HR practitioner to join our People, Capability and Culture Advisory Team! Te Whiwhinga Mahi The opportunity We are looking for a trusted senior advisor who will work in partnership with the business to enable Te Puni Kokiri to maintain and enhance our capability to deliver efficient, effective, and economical outputs. Our Advisory function is going through a transition period, and we're looking for people who are adaptable, who can front-foot their mahi, have change management experience, and are looking for an exciting new challenge! The Senior HR Advisor will champion, contribute, and support the delivery of high-quality People & Capability advice and initiatives and is expected to: Provide expert advice and support on HR policies and practices including employment relations, remuneration, employee engagement, employment agreements, employment legislation, change management, performance management, team development and management / staff development. Be proactive in providing HR services to the business. Build effective trusting relationships based on partnership with managers and kaimahi. Effectively identify and manage risks. Look for opportunities to improve people management processes and tools. The appointment range for this role is between $93k - $115k per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience. Ko wai koe About you This opportunity is for a highly skilled HR practitioner that possesses the technical knowledge and expertise to support the organisation in making effective decisions surrounding its people. To be successful in the role, you should have: Demonstrated experience providing generalist HR advisory services preferably within the NZ public sector and at a Senior level. Change management experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and with impact. Ability to work independently using sound judgement and initiative. Strong knowledge of contemporary HR best practice. A deep technical understanding of Employment Relations and the associated legislation. Have the skills to create real sustainable change by partnering with the teams you work with.
