Kaitohu Matua | Senior AdvisorTe Puni Rohe | RegionsTe Puni Kokiri | The Ministry of Maori DevelopmentLocation: Te Tai Tokerau | WhangareiWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Advisor to lead work with whanau, hapu, iwi, Maori organisations and communities within their region.Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunityAs a Senior Advisor, you will be the champion and promoter of the Te Puni Kokiri investment strategy to enable better outcomes for Maori. Working alongside and supporting your region, you will form long-term relationships while understanding the context of your region. This includes:Supporting the region to deliver on the work programme.Supporting the Regional Director and Team Leader to build a strong presence for Te Puni Kokiri in the region to support the implementation of Government policies.Providing mentoring and coaching to Advisors within the region.Managing the flow of information between Maori and the Policy puni for programme evaluation.Managing local level provider contracts including reporting and funding approvals.The appointment range of this role is $93,317 - $115,743 per annum, and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.Ko wai koe | About youTo be successful in this role you:Have experience working with whanau, hapu, iwi, Maori organisations and communities.Have a high level of understanding of the Machinery of Government, public service and public sector processes.Understand the rationale and mechanisms of government intervention, i.e. reasons for government intervention, the available intervention mechanisms and alternatives to government interventions.Have commercial experience with keen analytical skills and the ability to identify and support possible growth opportunities.Can identify, build and actively manage significant relationships, valuing diverse perspectives and experiences.Are comfortable working in a te ao Maori environment and are comfortable in a kaupapa Maori environment.Have a broad understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi and Te Tiriti o Waitangi and recognise the importance of the Treaty from both Maori and Crown perspectives.Have a level of competency in te reo Maori, or a willingness to learn.Have a clean full driver's licence.Ka whiwhi koe i te aha | What you will get in returnTe Puni Kokiri is a diverse and rewarding working environment full of passionate people focused on discovering solutions that will assist in serving our communities.
