We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Advisor to join our Organisational Performance Team looking to gain meaningful experience in public sector accountability and reporting!
Te Puni Kokiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Maori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with Maori. This includes our mandate to promote Maori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.
Te whai wahitanga | The opportunity An internal facing position, the Senior Advisor, Organisational Performance plays an important role of providing leadership to internal stakeholders on Te Puni Kokiri's accountability and reporting requirements. The role reports to the manager of the Organisational Performance Team and is based in National office in Wellington. You will:
Manage the process, preparation, collation and finalisation of the Ministry's external reporting, including quarterly reporting and the annual report to Parliament.Assist with the development of the Estimates of Appropriations and output class information ensuring that accountability (including legislative and Treasury) timelines are adhered to.Provide backup on the oversight of the Estimates and any financial reviews, including coordinating the Te Puni Kokiri responses to written questions to the Finance and Expenditure Committee, and the Maori Affairs Select Committee.The appointment range for this role is between $104k - $115k per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.

Minimum Qualifications: Exceptional relationship management skills. Can quickly build in-person rapport with a range of stakeholders.Successful experience operating within a Public Service environment with knowledge and understanding of the Machinery of Government, Policy process.Proficiency with Microsoft packages especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Presentation skills and the personal credibility to be able to speak with authority on behalf of Te Puni Kokiri.Strong knowledge and understanding of te ao Maori and are comfortable working in an environment where tikanga is observed.A high level of commitment to detail, quality, thoroughness and delivery.Demonstrated experience in a complex and politically sensitive environment.Tau e whai ai | What you will get in return Te Puni Kokiri is a diverse and rewarding working environment full of passionate people focused on creating solutions that will help our communities.
