Te Puni Kokiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Maori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with Maori. This includes our mandate to promote Maori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior investment advisor to join our Regions puni and drive success against Te Puni Kokiri's priorities. This position is based in our Otautahi | Christchurch office, and reports to the Manager, Performance Support, who isbased in our National Office in Wellington.
Te whai wahitanga | The opportunity
The Senior Regional Investment Advisor supports the successful delivery of our investment programmes across the motu. Internal facing, they play an important support role within our regional network and will provide:
Investment Advice and Support . Providing high level support to the offices in the Te Waipounamu rohe, enabling them to connect their regional investment strategy.
Provide kaimahi with the knowledge to navigate our investment portfolio systems and processes
Ensure front facing staff know the key criteria of each investment programme and initiative, and can identify and manage investment risk
Help staff with more complex investment proposals and decision making
Maintain the integrity of the investment programme within an ao Maori context.
Regional Information and Advisory. To support the rohe and wider Te Puni Kokiri you will understand the local landscape, participate in other Te Puni Kokiri regionally lead mahi and, as an internal facing kaimahi manage relationships with key internal partners.
Provide market insights and knowledge to the rohe and wider Te Puni Kokiri.
Provide quality assurance advice to Regional Directors and Managers across investments.
Provide regional insights to the portfolio teams to support investment improvements.
Support the Manager, Programme Support to understand the wider picture of investments including the impacts on Maori and drive results in our priorities.
The appointment range for this role is between $93,317 to $115,743 per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will have at least three years Senior level experience, including making sound, robust investment recommendations and applying this thinking through an ao Maori lens. We are looking for someone with:
The confidence to promote, and "champion" the use of our systems and processes
The ability to proactively manage and identify investment risks and issues.
An ability to identify, build and actively manage relationships, valuing diverse perspectives and experiences in this internal facing role.
Experience working in and is comfortable in a tikanga / kaupapa Maori environment. Having a degree of fluency in te reo Maori is of benefit.
Excellent communication skills and strong critical reasoning, numeracy and technology skills - including spreadsheets and databases.
Has highly developed skills of persuasion and influence
Has a clean, full drivers licence.
