Village Green, Remuera's first nature-based early learning centre, is seeking a dedicated Kaitiaki Kaiako (Nature Play Coordinator) to lead our nature-based programme. About Village Green Opening in March 2025, Village Green is a purpose-built, nature-based early learning centre designed to inspire and nurture young minds. We believe nature is an invaluable teacher, fostering children's learning through play in a relaxed, natural environment. Our centre is committed to holistic development, sustainability, and a strong connection to the environment. The Role The Kaitiaki Kaiako will bring our nature-based curriculum to life, spending time across all age groups to support the delivery of engaging, nature-focused learning experiences. This role involves connecting with local experts to enhance our programme and empowering our team to integrate nature into everyday learning. Key Responsibilities: Leading the nature-based programme, ensuring alignment with Te Whariki. Facilitating weekly nature-focused sessions for each age group (infants 0-2 years and over-twos). Supporting kaiako to embed natural play-based learning throughout the curriculum. Establishing partnerships with community experts to provide enriching experiences. Caring for the centre's indoor plants and integrating plant care into learning activities. Contributing to the centre's sustainability initiatives and promoting environmental stewardship. About You We are looking for someone who: Loves the outdoors and has a natural play-based philosophy. Brings knowledge of regenerative practices and environmental care. Has a collaborative, flexible, and energetic approach. Maintains high standards of professionalism and communication. Is a fully registered ECE or primary teacher with a sound understanding of Te Whariki. Can facilitate nature-based learning experiences across age groups. Hours and Benefits Flexible, permanent role at approximately 30 hours per week (option to take on relieving hours for a full 40-hour week). Full Pay Parity.
