Our Piki te Ora (Long Term Conditions) team are looking to recruit a Kaiawhina Piki te Ora (Community Health Worker) - Healthy Kai to cover the Thames-Coromandel/Hauraki area. The Kaiawhina Piki te Ora provides health education/promotion and support. This role works closely alongside the dietitian fostering relationships with local community agencies, the social service sector and other agencies as required. This ensures continued engagement, continuity of care and the navigation of services for whanau through the complexity of health and social services.
Employment type: Full Time (1.0 FTE) Fixed Term (to cover parental leave)
Location: Thames
As a Kaiawhina Piki te Ora, you will have a passion for supporting our communities across the Hauraki rohe to improve health and wellbeing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in te reo Maori me ona tikanga.
A full clean and current driver licence.
Strong links (or the ability to build strong links) with Hauraki communities, community groups and the wider social sector network.
We require a confident proactive individual with strong time management skills, a great sense of humour, and a sparkling personality.
