He aha te turanga I About the role Rheumatic fever is a common yet preventable illness that is all too common within our Maori and Pasifika communities.
Often when left undetected, the illness develops into rheumatic fever or worse, heart disease.
Our rheumatic fever initiative is an educational approach to this ongoing challenge and aims to improve awareness within our most vulnerable communities.
Here at Te Puna Ora o Mataatua, we're committed to removing the barriers to healthcare for our whanau.
We are looking for a Kaiarahi for our Te Manawa Taki Region (Hamilton, Rotorua & Gisborne), to engage with whanau in this area, and develop whanau-led plans for our Whakapiki Oranga Manawa – Rheumatic Fever Awareness Campaign.
As our Rheumatic Fever Co-ordinator – Te Manawa Taki Region, your mahi will include designing and co-ordinating workshops and wananga to raise awareness of Rheumatic Fever, and to facilitate the integration of Whakapiki Oranga Manawa into Whanau Ora plans across Hauora Maori and Pasifika.
This is an exciting initiative that is aimed at creating positive health outcomes for whanau, hapu, and iwi.
