Kaiako/Scale A Teacher

Position: Primary and Intermediate (Years 1–8) / Kura Tuatahi, Certificated Teacher
Subjects: English, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te Reo Maori, The Arts

We can provide a friendly working environment with a young and enthusiastic team working with Y3–5 akonga. Our kura is located in Petone, Lower Hutt, which is easily accessible from Wellington by train or car. Our tamariki are keen to learn, and our community is very supportive. This is a fabulous place to work!
Our kura is proudly dual medium, and all akonga in our English medium learn Te Reo Maori for a minimum of 3 hours per week. All kaiako in our kura are actively working to improve their own ability to speak Maori, and a commitment to teaching Te Reo me Tikanga Maori is an absolute must for this position. You might not be strong in the reo yet, but you will be as committed as we are to making the journey.
