This position starts in January2025.As Kaiako, you will guide tauira on their artistic journeys, blendingtechnical skill development with the rich traditions of Maori and Indigenousarts.
Teaching responsibilities include crafting engaging lesson plans,delivering interactive learning experiences, responding to the diverse needs oftauira, and supporting their progress and achievement.Mou | About youWe are seeking an individual with both the expertise and passion forthese art forms and a commitment to indigenous teaching practices.You will also bring with you:Maunga Kura Toi(Bachelor of Maori Art – L7) with a focus on an appropriate kaupapa Toi(Whakairo, Nga Mahi a te Whare Pora, Toi Ataata, Mau Rakau, Performing Arts),or equivalent, that demonstrates holding or showing equivalence for NZQAstandards assessed in this programme New ZealandCertificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent Either attestequivalence for NZQA standards required to assess and moderate this programmeOR hold the NZ Certificate in Assessment Practice (L4) Full and currentNZ Driver License Minimum two yearsof proven experience teaching adult learners Proven experienceand expertise in Maori art world with specific skills in relevant kaupapa toi Able tounderstand and converse in te reo Maori at an intermediate level Asa kaupapa Maori organisation, your willingness to participate in culturalactivities and develop an understanding of Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture andtikanga) will be key.Tonoa i tenei ra!
