As Sous Chef, you will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise and creativity in our well-equipped kitchen. Your leadership skills will be put to the test as you assist in guiding and inspiring a dedicated team of culinary professionals. Together we will deliver exceptional dining experiences that exceed our guests' expectations. This full-time permanent role is based at Sudima Christchurch Airport Hotel.Responsibilities | Nga haepapa Assisting the Sous and Head/Executive Chef in the leadership of the kitchen team whilst on shift and in the absence of the Sous and Head/Executive Chef.Assist with planning costing and developing all menus.Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are established and monitored and maintained at that level.Ensure the highest possible standard of hygiene is practiced and maintained by the entire F&B Service team to meet Health & Safety regulations and HACCP food preparation guidelines.Maintain a sound knowledge of the hotel's procedures for purchasing of food stocks and ensuring all necessary measures are in place to maintain budgeted food costs in all outlets.Purchase all food products from the hotel's preferred suppliers list in line with Sudima Hotels sustainability framework and SUPF goal.About you | Ko koe teneiA minimum of two years' experience in a comparable environment.Attention to detail.Relevant qualifications.Highly motivated.Outstanding communication, time management, and organisational skills.Passion for service delivery and the hospitality industry.Excellent interpersonal relationships and the ability to relate to staff in a friendly, positive and amicable manner.Strong commitment to teamwork.He kura te tangata - We are all valuedDiscounts at our hotels, restaurants and spas across our network.Staff, family and friends rates at our hotels.Meals on duty and uniform provided.Excellent reward & recognition events.Service and anniversary gifts and benefits.Wellbeing programme including Health insurance discounts.Paid training and individual Employee Development Plans.Training towards NZQA qualifications and our very own online digital learning platform.Free Life Insurance, Digital Will & Best Doctors teleservice after 3 months of employment.Our values are based on caring, working together, and doing the right thing.
