Junior Quantity Surveyor Location: Bay of Plenty

Description Harkin Roofing is the largest commercial roofing company in the Bay of Plenty. We have been in the business for over 40 years and due to this we are a highly respected and well-known company.
Role: Junior Quantity Surveyor
To apply for this role, you must hold a Quantity Surveying qualification.
Responsibilities: Undertake take offs and price commercial roofing tenders
Assist the Maintenance team with quoting and roof inspection reports as required
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and measurements to identify required materials
Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor and the Project Managers as required
Understand the roofing code of practice to ensure that projects that Harkin Roofing completes meet this code
Understand relevant legislation, including the New Zealand Building Code, the New Zealand Building Act 2004 and local by-laws
Building site visits as required; therefore, you will need to be comfortable on a building site and on a roof
Requirements: An understanding of relevant legislation, including the New Zealand Building Code, the New Zealand Building Act 2004 and local by-laws
New Zealand diploma in Construction Quantity Surveying
The ability to read and interpret building plans
Maths & basic accounting skills
Hard working team player with a great sense of humour
Ethical and honest
Ability to work well under pressure
