We are seeking passionate and dedicated Junior Chefs to join our team at a noodle store specializing in authentic Chongqing Noodles (????), a variety of noodle toppings, and local specialty cold dishes from Chongqing. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their culinary skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the development of new and exciting dishes. This is a full-time job, and the starting hours will be 30 per week with the potential for increased hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development and Innovation: Assist in the development and innovation of our menu by suggesting new dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques that enhance our offerings.Cooking and Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes, with a focus on Chongqing noodles, various noodle toppings, and local specialty cold dishes, ensuring adherence to established recipes and standards.Training and Mentoring: Work under the guidance of senior chefs to learn and master cooking techniques, presentation, and food safety procedures. Mentor and assist other general kitchen staff in developing their skills.Quality Control: Monitor food quality and taste to ensure consistency and adherence to our high standards. Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to meet customer expectations.Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, special requests, and dietary preferences as needed.Inventory and Cost Management: Collaborate with the management team to manage inventory, control costs, and maximize profitability.Assist in streamlining workflow and optimizing efficiency during busy periods.Food Safety and Sanitation: Uphold food safety and sanitation practices in accordance with health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Job pre-requisites:
? Can work on the roster for seven days a week. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.? Three years of experience working in Chinese cuisine is a must.? Experiences in Chongqing-style dishes are preferred.? Must possess a keen eye for detail and a hard-working attitude.? Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.? Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.? Must maintain personal cleanliness to ensure high standards of hygiene.? The successful candidate must pass a police check and drug test.
