About the Role:
We're looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our client's team as a Junior/Intermediate BMS Controls Engineer in Christchurch. You don't need to meet every requirement—our client values a solid foundational knowledge and is eager to train and develop the right person into a skilled BMS Controls Engineer.
As a proactive, team-oriented professional, you'll be ready to develop your expertise in building automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with configuring and programming building automation system controllers
Support the creation of intuitive system graphics and control drawings
Contribute to system engineering tasks, including equipment selection and functional operations
Participate in on-site commissioning and testing of automation systems and field devices
Help with project handovers, including documentation and client training
Provide ongoing system support, troubleshooting, and servicing
Stay updated with automation technology, integration solutions, and data networks
About You:
Qualification in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering (or working towards one)
Ideally, some experience or training with Siemens or Tridium building automation products
Familiarity with control panels, DDC panels, touch screens, or HVAC control systems
Basic proficiency with computers, operating systems, and an understanding of networks
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
