If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Judges Personal Assistant.

In this role, you will provide administrative and secretarial support to District Court Judges. You will be responsible for facilitating effective liaison and communication within the PA judicial support team, handling confidential and sensitive matters, and optimizing the Judges' capacity to effectively fulfil their judicial duties.

Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive administrative support to District Court Judges, including managing their calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings/events. Organize and maintain electronic and physical files, ensuring that information is accurately documented and easily accessible. Handle matters of a highly confidential and sensitive nature with the utmost discretion and maintain strict confidentiality at all times. Coordinate support services for visiting Judiciary along with reception tasks/duties. Assist judges during court proceedings, including managing case files/documentation, and ensuring all necessary materials are readily available. Manage and prioritize incoming communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail, responding or redirecting them as appropriate. Assist with ad-hoc support tasks such as stationery orders, word processing/photocopying/scanning, and arranging travel. Attention to detail when typing/proofreading Reserve Judgements or other documents. Act as a liaison between Judges, legal professionals, court staff, and other relevant parties. Proven experience as an administrative assistant, personal assistant, or in a similar role. Familiarity with legal terminology and court procedures is highly desirable. Proficiency in using office software and tools, including MS Office Suite and document management systems. Minimum word processing speed of seventy words per minute. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail and attentive listening. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work independently or as part of a team. Experience in a legal or court environment is an advantage.

Judges Personal Assistants report to the Ministry of Justice while taking day-to-day direction from the Judiciary. Each PA supports approximately 4-5 District Court Judges. As the primary point of contact for the Judges and Chambers, you will serve as the frontline representative, ensuring that all interactions reflect our commitment to professionalism and assisting all parties involved.

Utu a-tau / Salary The remuneration band for this role is $58,729 to $80,794 - the appointing salary is expected to range from $59,970 to $66,173, depending on the skills and experience you bring to the role.
