The purpose of this role is to ensure the continuous supply of steam, water, compressed air, gas and electricity to the mill and mill environmental and effluent control systems within our consent limits. The Shift Engineer will also have the following responsibilities:Key member of the Incident Response TeamAfter hours assistance for permits and site securityCoordination with external energy utilities for fuel supplies and electricity usageMonitor and respond to an Unattended gas fired boilerTo be successful in this role, you will need to be knowledgeable and experienced in:Industrial steam systems and plant services within a 24/7 operationAt least 10 years of engineering experience in a major process industry or heavy engineering (e.g. Pulp & Paper, Petrochemical, Mining or Metals) is desirableCompetent and experienced Unattended Boiler operatorGeneral understanding of Resource Management Act and its regulationsPulp & Paper operations and processes (an advantage but not a requirement)You will have a minimum of a Mechanical Engineering Trade (1st Class Engineer Drivers certificate or 3rd Marine or Level 4 – ENCHEM Certificate).
