Account & Relationship Management (Sales)
Full time
$70,000 – $80,000 per year + uncapped bonus
At Four Words, we help people create well-designed, custom engagement rings and fine jewellery.
We're not an age-old luxury brand founded by a French guy a century ago, nor do we want to be one. We use innovation, service and creativity to create seamless experiences and beautiful pieces for our clients.
Why we need you We've been around for three years and have quickly become one of the major bespoke jewellery brands in NZ.
Almost all our clients want to create an engagement ring or some other meaningful piece of jewellery – this is a significant purchase for them, and they are both very excited about it and nervous about it.
Your role is to be the confident and knowledgeable guide that they can trust to help bring their vision to life while making the process fun and stress-free.
What you'll be doing This is a consultative sales and account management role, meaning you'll be:
Managing new leads as they come in – either through in-person consults, virtual consults, email inquiries or phone calls.
Working to understand what they're looking for and what their vision is.
Qualifying them to see if it is a good fit for both of us to work together.
Quoting prices and sending invoices for payment.
Following up with leads and clients via phone and email.
Providing advice around design and materials to help them achieve their vision.
Creating design briefs for our design team based on the client's requirements.
Guiding clients through our design process, which can include:
Discussing designs created by our design team with clients, working through revisions and providing practical design advice.
Answering client questions and helping them make decisions on designs and materials.
Problem-solving and helping clients achieve their goals given budget and design constraints.
Communicating timelines and keeping clients up to date on their orders.
You'll be the main point of contact for clients from the initial consultation through to the handover of the completed piece.
This is not a retail sales or outreach-based sales role.
How you'll work This is a 5-day, 40-hour-a-week, salaried position.
The studio is open for consults from Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturdays 10am to 4 pm.
You will need to work alternating Saturdays. The exact hours and days can be discussed.
There can be flexibility with working hours and location during the week (i.e. work from home), so long as client consults are not impacted.
The role is in a studio setting where clients meet us by appointment only.
What skills you'll need You do not need a background in jewellery design or sales. We'll provide comprehensive training and coaching to develop these skills.
What we're looking for is someone who:
Has a warm and friendly personality.
Is energetic and outgoing.
Has high levels of empathy.
Is curious by nature.
Can speak confidently to people both in person and on the phone.
Has the ability to actively listen.
Is organised and can follow a process.
Has an eye for shape, form and colour - a design or creative-related background is nice to have but isn't essential.
If you have experience in consultative sales or account management in a creative environment, that's an advantage.
What benefits you'll get from us Competitive salary + bonus (KPI driven, not commission based).
Work out of our beautiful newly fitted-out character space in the CBD (easy transport links).
Tech allowance for work devices.
Opportunity to learn about different areas of the business (Design, Marketing, Finance, Operations etc).
Personalised development plan and coaching.
Get to work in a start-up environment with a young, ambitious and growing team.
Jewellery at cost for yourself + generous discounts for close friends and family.
