The Technology Solutions group is responsible for the enhancement and maintenance of all OSPRI applications and infrastructure, including the management of vendors to deliver the required services to support OSPRI enterprise and technology solutions required for national animal disease management.
This group will also have spatial analysis and reporting responsibilities to support the wider OSPRI organisation.
The newly created ITSM Vendor Management role is key member of the IT Management Team, and encompasses two primary responsibilities: Contract Management: Proficiency in reviewing and analysing commercial contracts is essential, with a focus on identifying potential issues or risks.
Service Design: Strong expertise in ITIL/ITSM frameworks is required to design and implement new service processes effectively.
The ITSM/Vendor Manager is responsible for the management of centralised oversight of existing and new IT services and third-party vendor relationships.
This position will manage clear SLAs, the management of relationships with external providers, integrating external service providers to deliver a seamless unified service experience for OSPRI staff, and ensuring successful managed services renewals and partnering for future software development.
Key Responsibilities:Consolidation and management of all IT services and third-party vendors, providing a single point of accountability to ensure that all service agreements are consistently monitored and managed.Manage extended outsourced services.Manage operational performance, with a strong commercial focus on cost performance whilst ensuring these providers are aligned to and participant in the development of technology roadmaps and strategies ensuring maximum value is delivered to OSPRI.Manage the review, renegotiation, execution of go–to–market strategies and renewal of managed service agreements.
Ensuring that evaluations of vendors, contract terms, service levels, and costs are optimised.Provide strong governance over vendor relationships, ensuring service delivery meets OSPRI's requirements and standards.
Regular performance reviews and clear reporting maintain accountability and drive continuous improvement.Assessing current service performance to identify areas for improvement.
Ensuring that vendors consistently meet their service level agreements (SLAs), leading to higher-quality IT services across cloud platforms, cybersecurity, applications, and networking.Actively monitor vendor performance and manage contractual obligations to reduce operational risks.
The ITSM/Vendor Manager helps prevent service disruptions and protects OSPRIs interests by addressing potential issues before they escalate.Essential skills and experience:Proven 5+ years' experience as a ITSM /Vendor Manager in a medium to large organisation.Advanced ITIL Certifications.Strong negotiation, contract drafting, and compliance monitoring skills are essential.Demonstrated experience in managing complex vendor relationships, including evaluating vendor performance, handling escalations, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both orally and in writing) with a wide range of people in different situations in order to explain, persuade, convince, and influence others.Excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship-building skills, with the ability to convey complex information to various audiences.Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
The ability to understand and analyse total cost of ownership (TCO), cost-benefit analysis, and value-for-money assessments and investment requirements.Prior experience managing large budget and multiple vendor agreements.
