MVM is a state-of-the-art nutritional's processing plant, commissioned in 2018. Supported by its majority owned parent company, a2 Milk Company, MVM is an "ambitious" young company with a proactive approach. This is shown by its focus on sustainability and recently becoming the first fully certified renewable electric dairy factory in New Zealand. Other initiatives are in play.
This newly created role will appeal to those looking to step into an IT Leadership role that requires a strong focus on business engagement and service delivery in order to successfully oversee and develop IT's effectiveness for the business.
The Role This position serves as the key IT leader for MVM and is based with the leadership team at the Plant. MVM primarily operate an outsourced IT model with currently only one fulltime resource whose role is working with the ERP. You will have peer support from a2Milk's Australian based IT team and where beneficial to the MVM business, you will align IT systems with the wider a2 Milk Company IT strategy. Over time this role may also evolve to provide oversight for the support of a2 Milk's Auckland and Christchurch offices as part of the broader a2 Milk Company's IT Service Management operating framework.
You are tasked with managing MVM's IT environment to ensure operational excellence and alignment with business objectives both now and strategically in the future. Your ability to establish and manage successful relationships with MVM's business and IT partners is crucial. You need to be well prepared strategically and operationally to give all external partners clear guidelines and timely direction to enable them to be effective.
With the core IT infrastructure environment well managed, the focus is on better utilising technology related tools to support the business. A lot of the focus is on providing better and timely information, through the upcoming ERP refresh, the continued development of the business intelligence capability, and completion of the BCDR plan. As the IT Manager, you will actively participate in the implementation of the ERP solution, ensuring it meets the operational and strategic needs of the business
In terms of reporting lines, you will report to site management with functional direction provided by a2 Milk's CIO.
Experience and Knowledge To be successful in this role, we are looking for you to have several of the following attributes:
Proven experience in a mid-level IT Manager role or able to highlight you have the right building blocks of knowledge and decision making to make the step up.
Capability to effectively participate and contribute to the site senior leadership team proving insight on IT, innovation and business process alignment.
Able to demonstrate your ability to understand a business and how IT can be enabled to support the business strategy.
Strong Service Delivery and Customer Management capability, able establish and manage effective working relationships internally and externally with key IT and business providers.
Able to highlight a strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, data and software applications sufficient to ensure the right decisions are made at the right time.
Ability to manage budgets and understand financial implications of IT decisions.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong business analysis and requirements definition capability.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills and planning.
The role needs to be based onsite at the Plant, but once settled into the role there is flexibility for 1-2 days per week if needed to work for home.
