In this role you will provide leadership and direction, managing a team to plan, prioritise and support the delivery of Auckland Transport's multi-year capital investment programme.Your team will be responsible for facilitating long-term investment planning, prioritisation and funding allocation decisions, budgeting, reporting, monitoring and associated advisory services related to the performance of AT's significant capital investment programme.You will be influential and a thought leader, ensuring that insightful advice and critical information is available, understood and utilised for decision-making, financial stewardship, measurement and achievement of AT and functional business plans.Your strong leadership skills will be utilised to lead, manage, develop, and motivate a team of finance professionals.This role is a member of the Finance senior leadership team and works closely with the Director, Infrastructure and Place to support delivery of agreed outcomes, including operational planning and performance.Na tau rourou | What will you bring?As our successful Investment Planning & Capital Performance Manager you will have experience and understanding in investment planning and/or financial management within an organisation that delivers large complex capital projects. You will also have:A tertiary degree qualification in accounting, finance or economics.A minimum of 15 years' experience (including at least 5 years leading a team) in a senior business and/or project leadership role.Experience as a manager who recruits great talent, builds highly effective teams, and motivates people to achieve results.Substantial history of delivery in projects with a high level of public visibility. Experience in managing programme planning and project accounting for large scale projects.Ideally, but not required, have a chartered membership of a professionally recognised accountancy body.A good understanding of the workings and functions of Local Government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements.Strong written skills, ability to write concise Board & ELT papers and prepare presentations for various audiences.Highly developed interpersonal and relationship skills.At AT, we embrace inclusion and fully support building a diverse workplace where people come first and we feel safe, respected, valued and supported, inclusive of our differences.
