About the roles We are currently seeking two roles, an Inventory Controller and Transport Coordinator to work within our Production and Workshop Centre teams based in Christchurch. Reporting to Senior Management, the Inventory Controller and Transport Coordinator will be responsible for leading, organising and controlling stock security/dispatch with an emphasis on protecting and tracking the company's goods. The primary focus of this position is to maintain inventory control/tracking systems efficiently so that at any point in time stock movements and holdings can be accurately reconciled and stock discrepancies kept to a minimum. The Inventory Controller and Transport Coordinator will be required to work closely with the Project and Site Managers as well as with the Production department. These are full-time roles of up to 50 hours per week. With 90% office based and 10% coordinating with the yardman and supervisors checking steel in and out with software processes and quality assurance. The key responsibilities for this position include: Monitors and maintains current inventory levels, tracks orders, tracks dispatch and investigates problems through Strumis Software. Training can be provided. Check loads are completed in full. Verifying quantity, weight, and conformance of received materials. Developing and implementing inventory control systems and practices. Coordinating the logistics of purchase orders with procurement manager, stock transfers, deliveries, tagging, and processing. Tracking inbound and outbound orders to prevent overstocking and out-of-stock (OOS). Maintaining and updating records of purchase orders, and inventory records. Following up orders not yet received and checking part received orders. Assist with capacity planning and the coordination of stock/material transfers between locations to ensure stock is in the correct places ahead of time. What will you bring? Previous inventory/transport management experience in a construction or production environment is desirable but not essential. Working knowledge of ERP systems but not essential. Transport Co-Ordination Valid Forklift License would be advantageous, if not training can be provided. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good interpersonal and communications skills across all levels of the business. Ability to work under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality. Possess a willingness to learn, improve and adapt. Possess relevant computer skills in MS office applications.
