International Student Administration Assistant Waitakere College is seeking an enthusiastic and personable Administration Assistant to join the International Department and support the International Director. The role is 15 hours per week and the role requires the flexibility to be able to work after hours and on weekends when required. Responsible to: International Director Hours: 15 hours per week (work pattern to be negotiated) Objectives:  To assist in the monitoring of the pastoral needs of international students. To assist in ensuring that Waitakere College complies with the Code of Practice. To ensure our social media pages are regularly updatedTo create opportunities to celebrate International students including coordinating events and excursions. Some supervision and attendance may be required.Being responsible for the homestay component of the International programme.Support the International Director in their roleRequired skill set: Attention to detail Strong administrative skills Self motivation InitiativeStrong communication skills both orally and written Compassion and empathyExperience with teenagers with varying levels of English competency Ability to plan and manage the workload independently Understanding of cultural differences Ability to maintain a high level of confidentialityExperience with Word, Excel, Google Suite and other software applicationsConfidence to address and manage challenging situationsWork autonomously but also part of a teamWhat we are looking for: An enthusiastic, collaborative, well organised, problem solver who is able to use their initiative and connect positively with a range of people.Possess excellent organisational skills, communication skills, time management and strong attention to detail. Knowledge of Google Suite, KAMAR and e-School is desirable but not essentialMust possess a full clean drivers licence and own vehicleAll applicants must be in New Zealand and hold a valid work visa or have NZ residency. The successful applicant will also have to undergo the police vetting procedure.
