We work with US universities to build and facilitate international programs in Asia Pacific, Europe, North and South America, focusing on a variety of academic fields. Location: Either Sydney or Auckland. You must be eligible to work there either via citizenship or through the work holiday visa (i.e. Australia subclass 462 or NZ working holiday visa). Only accepting applicants who are ready to relocate to either of these countries this year.
About the Role: This role will be focused primarily on performing tasks in connection with placing student interns with host companies. Tasks related to this role include but are not limited to the following:
Host company outreach and relationship management
Work with appropriate external teams on required internship visa-related paperwork
Manage placement process for all students (arrange interviews, prepare offer letters, etc.)
Liaise with host companies during the program period to ensure students are present and performing during their required hours
Conduct student interviews and compile notes to build profiles for each participant
Manage student expectations for realistic internship opportunities
Review student resumes and suggest edits based on internship location preferences
Provide professional development sessions for students throughout their internship
Student communications related to required paperwork, deadlines, timelines, and questions they may have about the program
The role will also involve traveling to international locations to support and oversee ongoing programs. If selected, you must be prepared to move to Sydney or Auckland this year. Additionally, you may be asked to perform some administrative tasks to help organize and plan these programs, which consist primarily of booking suppliers and doing online research.
Background, skills, and interest: This is meant to be an entry-level position and GAV will provide on-the-job training. The following are desirable skills and experiences, although individual consideration will be given to all candidates who apply with experience and skills related to the position.
Undergraduate degree in Education Management, Travel & Tourism, Social Sciences, International Relations, or International Education, preferred.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment handling many tasks at once.
Self-starter with the ability to plan ahead and manage time efficiently.
Great customer service skills and a passion for creating the highest quality study abroad programs possible.
Experience living internationally or having studied abroad preferred.
Experience working with university students preferred. Enjoys traveling abroad and is able to do so for extended periods of time (from 2 weeks to 1 month on average, 2-3 times per year).
Speaks an additional language is a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
