Administrative Assistants (Administration & Office Support) Inspiring academic excellence, leadership and a love of learning Hillmorton High School is a diverse, urban, co-educational school situated in the south-west of Christchurch. The school is a fast growing Year 7 - 13 school with dedicated middle and senior schools. We have a roll of around 1,350 including 50 international students from a range of countries. We provide students with a caring and supportive environment, to help them achieve academic excellence, leadership skills and a love of learning. The role Due to significant growth in our international programme, we are seeking an International Administration Assistant to join our International Department at Hillmorton High School. Applications are invited for this permanent, part-time position. The hours of work are 27.5 hours per week, to be worked over five days (Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm) term time only, with the flexibility to work some time-sheeted holiday hours. The successful applicant will need to be available from the second weekend of January to assist with student arrivals and on-call responsibilities (to be negotiated). Remuneration is on Grade 3 of the Support Staff (Administration Assistant) in Schools Collective Agreement. Working alongside the International Director, International Student Assistant (with homestay responsibilities) and English Language teachers, the successful applicant will provide administrative support to the International Director and work as part of the international team while engaging with students, host families, staff and relevant stakeholders in a friendly, vibrant and inclusive manner. The successful candidate must have: A background in administration with excellent organisational, communication and literacy skills Familiarity working with Google and / or Windows Office, and the ability to learn and use new software packages The ability to communicate positively with students, staff, host families and external relevant stakeholders A commitment to Te Tiriti of Waitangi and an understanding and the ability to be culturally responsive in a diverse, multi-cultural environment. Hold a current full driver's licence, Experience in using KAMAR and eSchool, working in the international education and / or school sector, and an understanding of The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 would be an advantage.
