About The Role With a solid pipeline of work projected and a company committed to growth, we are looking to add an intermediate level construction industry professional to our team.
This will be a key role in our business supporting both the Quantity Surveyor and the Contracts Manager and will see you working alongside qualified Builders, Client QS's and Project Managers.
Key responsibilities include: Assisting with drafting, evaluating, and negotiating contracts with suppliers, clients, and partners Reviewing budgets, forecasting, and costs, preparing and analysing project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour, and time Negotiating work schedules and allocating work to subcontractors, overseeing work at all stages of the construction Analysing outcomes and providing detailed progress reports, monitoring contract performance, manage reviews, progress claims and variations Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Effectively communicate relevant project, contract and reporting information to stakeholders Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use and provide support on contractual claims and disputes Health and Safety – having a sound working knowledge of industry Health and Safety regulations About You You will bring proven experience and qualifications in either QS, project or contract management.
A background in construction management or the building industry will be hugely advantageous.
You'll need to be curious, detail-oriented, and diligent in all things construction, projects, contracts.

Requirements include: Minimum 2 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying, Construction project management or similar position Hold a relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent practical experience Competent user of Excel and reporting is essential Knowledge and competence in contracts, estimates, tenders, and costs Knowledge of Buildertrend would be advantageous Excellent communication skills, professional written and verbal ability Professional manner with the ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously Sound organisation and time management skills – deadline driven Clear, critical thinker, able to analyse and identify opportunities and risks Ability to support business targets and goals An attractive salary package is on offer, including a base salary, KiwiSaver, phone and laptop.
There will be occasional day travel to the regions (currently Northland and Waikato).
