Our Asset Planning Team needs you! Due to an internal promotion, we are excited to announce a new opportunity that has arisen for an Intermediate Asset Planning Engineer and this is where you come in.As part of the Asset Planning Team, you will be situated in the Asset Planning Division, at the heart of the Infrastructure centre of excellence for asset management and information intelligence. You'll have a tangible impact on the city as you work alongside asset owners to identify and develop budgets for future infrastructure construction and maintenance projects across Palmerston North.To hit the ground running, you'll have two years' postgraduate experience in engineering, and an ambition to develop and grow your understanding of asset management. In return, we offer you a supportive workplace, with a commitment to ongoing professional development, work-life balance, and the opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team.This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.Your focus in this role will include:Contribute to programme and strategic investigations to support budget development.Support the ongoing improvement of asset management practice.Develop knowledge and understanding of the wastewater, water, and transport models to support other roles within the team and improve our resilience and delivery capability.Your technical skills will be essential for capturing, analysing, and translating data into intelligence, as well as for carrying out engineering assessments to support project strategic alignment and prioritisation. You will be part of our drive to improve asset management practice across Infrastructure.To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:Formal tertiary qualification in Engineering.Minimum two years' postgraduate experience in engineering, infrastructure asset management, or a related discipline.Effective communication and presentation skills.Developing ability to analyse complex issues and come to sound decisions.High degree of initiative with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.Awareness of local government approaches to infrastructure management, infrastructure funding, and the need for prioritisation.Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.Your qualification in engineering and postgraduate experience will provide a solid foundation for your success in this position.About usPalmerston North (or as we like to call it, Palmy) is a growing, innovative, and exciting city.
