The Opportunity:
West Oak Family Office is looking for a dynamic, motivated Insurance Associate to join their team. Reporting directly to the Senior Advisors, the Insurance Associate will play an integral role in the firm's insurance business, assisting with insurance applications, management of underwriting, and other administrative duties and responsibilities relating to insurance for the firm and its clients.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing all insurance applications with clients.
Engaging and completing the various stages of underwriting with the insurance carriers to have policies placed.
Engaging with various insurance carriers and reconcile monthly insurance commissions.
Creating and maintaining insurance reports.
Maintaining and updating records of all insurance licensed personnel and assisting with license renewals.
Providing support to Senior Associates on investment and wealth management client service matters, as required.
Performing other duties as assigned.
The Ideal candidate will possess:
A Diploma or Degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or similar field of study considered an asset.
3 years' experience in insurance and/or wealth industry preferred.
IR/RR licensing is not required but would be considered an asset.
Life and A&S Insurance licensed preferred. If unlicensed, must be willing to complete licensing within the next 12 months.
Effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and professional judgment skills.
Self-starter, ability to work autonomously and proactively.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed.
Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills and exhibits a high level of professionalism.
Adept at working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Conditions of Employment:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
