The team at Upper Hutt City Council work together to enhance the quality of life in Upper Hutt by providing leadership, support and services to our community.A great opportunity is available to join a fast-paced, dynamic and supportive team as our Infrastructure and Project Accountant.Through a business partner model, the Infrastructure and Project Accountant offers accounting, analytical and financial modelling support to the Operations Team to improve decision making and financial accountability, as well as acting as a trusted financial advisor to the project teams within council.Key responsibilities in this role include:Business Partner to the Operations teamProvision of financial forecasting and budgetingProject supportFinancial reporting designAssist with preparation of council's Long-Term PlanTo be considered for this role we are ideally looking for:Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualificationsA strong background in project accounting, including asset management expenditure and best-practice asset revaluation processesAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office applicationsConfidence in communication – be able to tell a story using financial data and the ability to improve financial literacy within an organisationAbility to build positive business relationships with internal teams and external partnersA passion for continuous improvement to drive positive change with systems and processes.Working with the Upper Hutt City Council is a rewarding way to support the community, work with a great team.
