We care about the wellbeing and success of our people and provide a supportive and inclusive working environment where people can thrive and be who they are.Position: Information Advisor, Information Risk and Assurance TeamPermanent Full time, Permanent positionLocation: National Office, WellingtonThe Ministry of Social Development Information, Security and Identity Group plays a vital role in supporting MSD's mission and values.As part of MSD's Organisational Assurance and Communications Group, they offer support and advice across Information Management, Security and Privacy domains.We have an opportunity for an Information Advisor to join our Information Risk and Assurance function.What you'll be doingYour role as an Information Advisor will be required to assist the Group in establishing and delivering sound and sustainable support and advice pertaining to assurance practices.You will bring knowledge in Information Management to ensure good information practices are applied to business services and solution design.You will work collaboratively with other team members and the wider business to deliver the Group's functional activities.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will bring:Expert knowledge of Information Management disciplines and practices, preferably in a government contextExcellent understanding of relevant statutes, rules, and regulations, including compliance obligations under the Public Records Act 2005 and Privacy Act 2020Capability to develop, maintain, and implement Information policies, standards, frameworks, guidance, training, and processes that are relevant to the Information Group's functional activitiesKnowledge of recordkeeping, archival management and electronic records managementAbility to vary advice from enterprise-level principles to taking a 'by-design' approachAbility to contribute to the design and implementation of information management risk and assurance activitiesStrong relationship management skills to influence the implementation of fit-for-purpose business solutionsIdeally you also have (not essential):Experience in working in the Agile environment.Good understanding of current and emerging technologies, especially those relevant to data protection and privacy such as AI and machine learning, cloud security, Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs).What's in it for youYou'll join an inclusive and collegial environment where we will celebrate achievements and prioritise action.Our team values diversity and we welcome flexible working.
