Southern Lakes Laundries – Queenstown, South IslandWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Electrician to join our team at our commercial laundry facility in Queenstown.You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our laundry equipment by maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical systems. Your expertise will play a critical role in enhancing productivity, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality within our laundry operations.Key Responsibilities:Electrical System Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on all electrical systems and equipment used in the commercial laundry facility. This includes laundry machines, conveyor systems, power distribution panels, lighting fixtures, and other related electrical infrastructure.Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize production disruptions. Utilize testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and technical expertise to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions.Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for electrical systems to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Ensure adherence to scheduled maintenance tasks and keep detailed records.Electrical Upgrades and Improvements: Collaborate with the maintenance team and management to propose, design, and implement electrical system upgrades and improvements aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing overall productivity.Safety Compliance: Ensure full compliance with New Zealand safety regulations and best practices in all electrical work. Conduct regular safety audits and comprehensive risk assessments to proactively identify potential hazards. Provide recommendations and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.Equipment Installation and Commissioning: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment, ensuring proper integration into the existing laundry infrastructure.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of electrical system maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and incidents. Provide regular reports on equipment performance, electrical consumption, and maintenance activities.Energy Efficiency: Identify opportunities for energy conservation and propose energy-efficient solutions to reduce utility costs and environmental impact.Qualifications and Requirements:Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer in a commercial or industrial setting, preferably in a laundry or similar manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, and industrial automation.Familiarity with laundry equipment and processes is advantageous.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
