As Huinga Hapori, you will primarily promote the parliamentary work of Te Matawaka MPs and the wider Green Party to diverse Maori and Pasifika audiences.
The Green Party Co-Leaders Office is interested in filling this role in either Auckland or Wellington, with a preference for capabilities to serve Maori and Pasifika communities in and near Auckland.
The Huinga Hapori will support MPs to build and strengthen relationships with Maori and Pasifika communities to grow awareness of the Green Party initiatives and policies.
You will have experience working in and with Maori and Pasifika communities and/or organisations and have a background in outreach, communications, public relations, and/or advocacy campaigning. Your key responsibilities include:
Build, develop and maintain positive working relationships with local community groups and networks, particularly Maori and Pasifika.Attend hui, talanoa, meetings, and forums within the community.Create and maintain information databases.Plan and organise functions, events, and tours.Coordinate publicity and advertising of events.Manage and oversee events on the day.Your great attitude and willingness to work hard and develop new skills will help you succeed in this role as you become accustomed to the ever-changing environment at Parliament.

The salary range for this role is $78,625 - $89,250 per annum, plus five weeks annual leave. Highly experienced applicants may be appointed above this range. Appointments will be based on skills and experience.
