Management - Internal (Human Resources & Recruitment)
We are looking for a pragmatic and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations across this Ashburton based business. This sole-charge role reporting into the General Manager will play a pivotal part in creating and implementing people strategies, supporting managers, and driving a positive company culture. You will deliver high-quality generalist HR services, handle recruitment, performance management, health and safety and enhance employee engagement, as well as lead a team of administrators and coordinators.

With a change of ownership underway this is an exciting role that will provide the opportunity to design and implement strategies to grow the HR function whilst it enters the next phase of growth!
Key Responsibilities: Creating and implementing improved HR processes. Provide strategic HR planning and support across all operations. Partner with the General Manager to develop and implement companywide HR initiatives. Manage recruitment, employee relations, change management, and performance management. Lead and improve employee engagement and people leadership capabilities. Manage Health and Safety as well as ensure compliance with NZ Employment Law. Provide guidance and training to managers on HR processes and systems. We are looking for someone who is down to earth with a cool, calm and collected attitude with strong relationship building and communication skills. As well as:
Strong experience in an HR Manager or Senior HR Business Partner role ideally in a sole charge capacity. A strategic mindset alongside a keenness to get stuck in operationally. A solid background in HR Leadership roles, ideally within primary industries or similar. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with various different personality types and the ability to influence people at all levels. A solid understanding of NZ Employment Law and experience managing ER and IR matters. Proven experience with HR systems and processes, including being comfortable with paper-based systems, but with the capability to implement tech-based solutions in time.
