We are looking for an HR Coordinator to join our thriving People and Culture Team. You will be reporting to the HR Manager but working closely with leaders and teams right across our business, from the experts who pilot ships into our harbour to the operators of complex mobile harbour crane and heavy container handling equipment. Day to day HR and Health and Safety coordination service and support to the People and Culture team and managers
Learning and Development coordination and administration support
Contribute to ongoing development and improvement of the Port's human resources processes
Self-development and growth in the HR function
Systems focus - provide system administration support and development for our Human Resources systems (including our HRIS Bamboo HR and our performance and engagement system)
Provide cover to payroll

We are currently seeking a Tug Engineer to join our Marine Team. The role will include servicing and participating in planned maintenance programmes for the Napier Port Harbour Tugs as well as contributing to the wider floating plant team.
In addition to maintaining our Harbour Tugs, the Tug Engineer is also responsible for providing deck duties during towing operations.
Key requirements for this role include:
Understanding of Maritime compliance requirements
Support and contribution to a continuous improvement
Proactive safety attitude and contribution to Just Culture
Clear communication and professionalism
The Tug Engineers operate as a rostered team and handle shipping on a 24-hour, 365-day basis. The successful candidate will have a Marine Engineers Qualification – minimum of a MEC 4 and relevant marine engineering experience including certification, knowledge and compliance within MOSS. Prior knowledge or training with Wärtsilä/Caterpillar engines and/or "Voith/Rolls Royce ATD" propulsion would be advantageous but is not a requirement.

Seeking an experienced operational leader with a background in the logistics, warehousing and supply chain sector.
Situated at the heart of a flourishing distribution and logistics hub in the North Island, the Manawatu Inland Port is right in the logistics epicentre of the lower North Island. The Inland Port is a leading provider of commercial import, export and warehouse services in the central North Island and plays a key role in increasing supply chain efficiencies for its cargo and shipping line customers.
About the role:
Reporting to the Board Chair, the Manawatu Inland Port Site Manager is responsible for providing leadership of the port to enable a safe and efficient operation, delivering on customer and stakeholder expectations and growing the business. The Site Manager is responsible for leading a team, developing effective succession planning, ensuring a safe and secure operation and leading the development of the business through actively developing commercial opportunities and customer relationship management.
Key priorities for the role include:
You will lead the Manawatu Inland Port operations and ensure operational requirements and customer expectations are delivered
You will identify opportunities for improving operational efficiencies
You will lead and develop a highly successful team
You will work closely with customers and operational staff to develop logistics solutions and resolve problems
You will support adherence to Ministry of Primary Industries and Customs obligations and work closely with other respective border security personnel
You will work closely with local government agencies to ensure the operation is best placed for future development
You will identify new business opportunities and develop strategic customer relationships
Ensure any site statutory reporting is maintained
Manage any tenants within the terms of their tenancy agreements and ensure their compliance to regulatory and site safety protocol
You will have full profit and loss responsibility
You will demonstrate exemplary health and safety leadership
About you:
You will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the logistics/warehousing/supply chain sector or shipping industry
You will have proven operational leadership skills
You will have proven health and safety leadership skills
You will have experience with business development and customer relationship management
You will have strong commercial and financial acumen
You will have sound business planning, reporting and organisational skills
You will be a strong communicator
Experience with obtaining and maintaining MPI transitional facility operator's certification and the International Institute of Container Lessors certification would also be advantageous.

One role is an immediate start and the second role is available for commencement on 1 October 2024. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Business Partners will work in partnership with managers, employees and the wider Port community to lead Health and Safety.
About the role:
Contribute to our 5-year Health and Safety Roadmap, with a strong focus on critical risk
Lead and/or co-ordinate core Health and Safety initiatives and processes e.g. Health and Safety Committees, accident and incident investigations, risk assessments, audits etc.
Initiate and lead industry best practice health and safety across the Port
Contribute to core health and safety management processes e.g. risk, assurance, auditing, planning, and reporting
Championing and developing a safety culture
Provide education and support managers, employees, contractors and other PCBU's on health and safety best practice
About you:
You will be an experienced practitioner
You will be a team player and excellent relationship builder
You will have experience in Health and Safety management and practice (preferably in an operational environment)
You will be a safety champion and leader
A NEBOSH or level 6 Health and Safety qualification is also desirable.
