HR Business Partner (10m Fixed-term - starting Feb 2025) Westland Milk Products is a well-known New Zealand end-to-end dairy manufacturer based in the beautiful South Island. We process over 700 million litres of milk a year and produce a wide range of dairy ingredients and consumer and foodservice products. The Role With an impending new arrival due for one of our People and Culture team, we have a great opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our dedicated and supportive team to cover a 10-month period of parental leave commencing in February 2025. Reporting to the HR Manager Westland & Subsidiaries and based in either Christchurch (Hornby), or on the stunning West Coast in Hokitika, this role will provide advice and guidance on a wide range of HR/People issues, ensuring that HR is viewed as a valued and trusted advisor within the business. The role will have responsibility for a dedicated portfolio within Westland and may also be required to provide HR advice and guidance to our subsidiary companies - Pure Nutrition, Canary Foods and EasiYo.
More specifically, the HR Business Partner will:
Contribute to and implement people strategy, policies and frameworks which are aligned with Westland's departmental, business and wider Group's goals Be the trusted advisor and coach of GM's, Managers and Supervisors within your portfolio on people issues Ensure the continual enhancement of that Westland Milk Products positive and engaged culture Provide coaching and support on all HR systems, policies, processes and management practices Contribute to and as required take the lead on change management and organisational development projects Coach, empower and assist managers with performance appraisal and individual development planning processes across the organisation Provide robust technical human resources, employment relations and industrial relations advice to the organisation Contribute to a high performing People & Culture team Our ideal applicants We are a people-focused team that pride ourselves on building strong and effective relationships - working together to support each other, our people and the business. More specifically, candidates will preferably possess:
Proven experience in a generalist HR role ideally supported by a relevant tertiary qualification Experience working with and delivering advice to all levels within the business Sound working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation, trends and practices Experience with a variety of HR applications and frameworks including candidate management systems, remuneration review systems and performance appraisal systems The ability to contribute to OD, remuneration and change management initiatives Exceptional coaching, relationship management and influencing ability coupled with well-developed written and verbal communication skills Experience of working in a large complex organisation Knowledge of manufacturing/production-based environments is advantageous but not essential.
