We are currently recruiting a Youth Development Facilitator who has the ability to work effectively across a broad range of stakeholders in an evolving and growing community environment.
This role involves facilitating community-led activities that create a healthier, happier, safer Waimakariri District for the youth of our District. This is in line with the Waimakariri District Council Youth Strategy Community Development Strategy, as well as the criteria for our status as an International Safe Community.
To be successful in this position you will demonstrate significant experience in:
Working effectively with young people
Working to a community-led model
Networking
Community Engagement
Facilitating groups, including organising and running meetings
Project planning and evaluation
Social and on-line media
Working across a range of sectors, including business, social and community
Working with people from a diverse range of cultural, socio-economic and values-based demographics
We are looking for self-motivated people who are able to motivate others and encourage innovative thinking to generate solutions to community-identified issues and opportunities. Your ability to build rapport and influence will compliment your excellent communication skills. You will need to be well organised and able to manage a workload of diverse portfolios to achieve timely outcomes. You will be able to work well as part of a team.
It would be advantageous to have had active involvement in a range of communities of interest. Being passionate and willing to bring energy and enthusiasm will definitely be a plus!
