This position will suit an HR Administrator/Coordinator with 2-3 years HR experience that is ready to step take their next career step into an HR Advisor role.
Waipuna Hospice has a high profile in the Bay of Plenty for providing specialist community palliative care.
Our geographical reach covers Waihi Beach to Otamarakau and while our focus is on hospice-at-home, we also have an established inpatient unit and we support a large community team.
These services are funded through Te Whatu Ora contracts, fundraising and income from our charity retail shops.

Job Description ABOUT THE JOB We are a small HR team at the heart of our organisation, supporting our people to be the very best they can be.
This is a fast-paced role that has generalist HR responsibility supporting the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to offboarding and everything in between.
No two days will be the same, there will be plenty of variety and opportunity to: build strong relationships with managers and employees support people-focused strategies and project implementation collaborate with key stakeholders and provide sound HR guidance in areas like development, performance management, employee relations and problem resolution develop and implement HR policies and processes to ensure HR compliance with current legislation The hours are Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week (between core hours of 8am – 5pm).
This is a 12-month fixed term.
We will consider WFH options after six months of service.
Desired Skills and Experience ABOUT YOU You will have 2-3 years HR experience in an HR Administrator/Coordinator role and are ready to take your next career step into an HR Advisor role.
To be successful in this role, you will have: A degree in a relevant field or equivalent HR experience Experience in process improvement or project management Previous experience in recruitment and/or payroll Excellent interpersonal and confident communication skills Strong administration and IT skills in MS Office and HR management systems Ability and adaptability to manage a busy and varied work load while keeping a level head and be well organised Exceptional ability at building and maintaining relationships with a variety of people and cultures A growth mindset and open to improvement opportunities WHAT WE OFFER At Waipuna Hospice we are fully committed to provide ongoing professional development opportunities for all staff.
