Hotel Manager - Kelvin The Kelvin Hotel, located in central Invercargill, is a multi-faceted hotel with 61 well-appointed rooms, and features versatile conference and event spaces, as well as Level One restaurant and bar, with its stylish décor and relaxing atmosphere, and Editor's Cut on the ground floor; the only inner-city sports bar in Invercargill.
As the Hotel Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation and strategic advancement of the property.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hotel Manager to guide our team and oversee the efficient day-to-day running and management of the hotel.
Collaborating closely with our leadership team, you will play a vital role in driving profitability, fostering a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
In this role, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and review of the hotel's strategic plans, working in partnership with the ILT Group Hotel Manager and Executive Team.
The Invercargill Licensing Trust (ILT) is a community-owned organisation that operates 23 high-quality hospitality businesses including hotels, motels, bars, and restaurants as well as retail bottle stores and two distribution centres, with profits going back to the community of Invercargill.
We also provide employment for approximately 700 people.
Responsibilities:Inspire and motivate the team to deliver outstanding customer experiences.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and legal standards.Challenge the status quo, driving innovation and continuous improvement to provide exceptional guest service and create an environment where the team can excel.Mentor, develop, and grow team members to achieve their full potential.Lead workplace health and safety initiatives, ensuring the well-being of all team members and guests are in line with legal and practical requirements.Cultivate strong relationships with guests and ILT Executive, ensuring timely and accurate communication and reporting.Oversee the daily operations of the Hotel, while working within budget parameters to optimize revenue in all areas of the business, including F&B, accommodation yield and occupancy, while empowering the team to succeed.Skills Required:Proven leadership experience with at least 5 years in the hospitality industry, preferably within a medium to large hotel setting.Strong expertise in managing budgets and driving revenue growth.Exceptional customer service abilities with a guest-focused mindset.Proficient in analysing industry trends to ensure the hotel's competitive position in the market.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Comprehensive understanding of financial management, including budgeting and cost control.Outstanding time management and organizational capabilities.In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning and bar management.Strong operational efficiency and inventory management skills.Solid understanding of health, safety, and licensing compliance.Ability to collaborate effectively within a large team environment.Passionate about hospitality with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.Quick thinker with the ability to address issues promptly and develop effective solutions.Insightful observer of industry trends and competitor activities, identifying opportunities for innovation and business improvement.Dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture by providing training, coaching, and support to enhance team performance.This is a hands-on position for a motivated person who leads by example.
