Auckland Rose Park Hotel is located in Parnell, opposite the beautiful Rose Gardens, and close to Parnell and Newmarket suburbs and the Auckland CBD. The hotel comprises 111 4 star Qualmark rooms, which were completely refurbished recently outdoor swimming pool, Garden View Restaurant & Bar and 4 conference and meeting spaces up to 120 seating capacity.The role:We are seeking a suitably experienced Hotel Manager to join our team and mentor 4 heads of department and liaise regularly with the hotel owner on the monthly operational and financial results. You will ideally be currently in charge of a full service 4 star hotel and overseeing all operations and involved in sales and marketing.Key responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:Oversee and manage all departments and working closely with department heads, ensuring targets and guest satisfaction are being met.Develop and implement business plans to boost room occupancy, drive food & beverage sales, conferencing and maximize revenue across all hotel departments.Effectively and actively pursue new business opportunities, grow sales, build strong client relationships, and increase corporate, conference and leisure bookings.Work closely with the revenue manager to develop strategies, tactics and promotions, to maximize REVPAR.Oversee the conference operations and grow revenues.Monitor closely operational and financial performance and payroll costs to maximize profit margins without compromising service quality.Review and analyze daily, weekly and monthly management reports and preparation of a monthly report on financial results to the hotel owner.Deliver outstanding service by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, staff efficiency, and guest engagement, ensuring repeat business and positive guest reviews.Inspire, train, and lead the management team and their members to deliver high standards of guest service, maximize sales opportunities, and maintain operational efficiency.Undertake sales and marketing personally and via the hotel's digital marketing company and revenue manager.Ensure the hotel complies with legal, health & safety and building regulations.Assure adherence to all hotel policies, procedures, service standards, standard operating procedures, and hotel operation controls.Have an excellent understanding of the Qualmark assessment requirements, and ensure the hotel maintains the current star rating.Have a strong understanding of NZ Employment law, and Human resource practices.Liaise with the hotel owner and contractors on the balance of the refurbishment of the hotel including the reception and restaurant.To succeed in this role, we're looking for someone with:3 years of proven experience in a Hotel Manager role.Strong leadership, mentoring and interpersonal skills.Proactive, priority, analytical and financial acumen with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Sales and marketing experience.Analytical mindset with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.Attention to detail from the point of view of hotel guests and owner.Hold a General Managers Certificate or have the ability to obtain one.Superior customer service skills, to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction with hotel and restaurant guests.Capacity and readiness to work in a flexible manner, including evenings, weekends and holidays when required.What's on offer:We offer the opportunity to grow your skills, develop your career and make a real difference in a supportive, fun, and professional working environment.
